Dear Friend, Are you tired of seeing the words “fake news”?

Dear Friend,

Are you tired of seeing the words “fake news”?

As we head into a new year, full of hope for better times and better policies from new leaders, we dare not take our eyes off the grave threats facing the Western democracies — threats that have been allowed to develop and fester through the failed policies of President Obama, Chancellor Angela Merkel, and others.

Iran, engorged with a cash infusion of tens of billions of dollars, openly threatens to accelerate its nuclear program, while expanding its military presence and proxy militias across the Middle East.

Islamist terrorist attacks in 2016 claimed hundreds of lives in the U.S., France, Germany, Belgium, Israel and Turkey.

Meanwhile, much of the Western news media do their utmost to ignore or downplay these attacks and strategic threats. They instead report on various political scandals, real or imagined, and target concerned citizens who voice their opinions as “racist” or “Islamophobic”.

Rather than battle Islamist radicalism and terrorism, much of the Western political class and media seem to prefer waging a cultural war on their fellow citizens.

Gatestone Institute works day-in and day-out, researching, analyzing and reporting on the challenges and threats we face today, and their long-term implications for our civilization.
